Ad-Hoc
About the Committee:
The Ad-Hoc committee is a place where delegates can challenge themselves to quickly adapt to new situations. Within this committee, delegates will be introduced to the topic during the first committee session along with a brief reading period to understand the background guide and their role within the committee. Delegates should then formulate a strategy accordingly so as to succeed. Delegates will undoubtedly have an enjoyable experience working in the Ad-Hoc committee as they work together to solve the crises that arise. While an Ad-Hoc committee is recommended for experienced delegates, all are welcome to participate. Position papers will not be expected from delegates as they will not have access to the background guide until the conference begins. All delegates within Ad-Hoc will be eligible for an award.
A LETTER FROM THE DaiS:
Dear Delegates,
My name is Henry Collin, and I will be your director for the [REDACTED] committee! This will be my second year as a member of MUNUM and my first time directing a committee. I am a junior majoring in History and minoring in Russian. I look forward to seeing you at the [REDACTED] committee and how you plan to tackle all of our rowdy obstacles we have in store for you! I’m excited to meet you at MUNUM XXXIX and am all ears for any questions you may have!
My name is May, and I am so excited to be serving as your Assistant Director for ADHOC at MUNUM this year! I’ve participated in MUN for three years and this will be my second year on staff. I’m thrilled to help bring this committee to life and create a weekend that’s both engaging and memorable for everyone involved. Outside of MUNUM, I’m a sophomore at the University of Michigan studying Neuroscience on the pre-dental track. I’ve been involved in research through UROP, student organizations, and love exploring the intersections of science, leadership, and community. When I’m not studying, you’ll probably find me painting, reading, or spending time with my family. MUN has always been a space where I’ve found growth, challenge, and inspiration, and I’m so excited to share that experience with you this January. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about the committee, the conference, or even just life at Michigan. I can’t wait to meet you all!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at henrycol@umich.edu and mayyy@umich.edu. We’re excited to meet you all!
Best,
Henry and May
